What once started as a stapled together black and white zine has turned into a worldwide leading climbing publication. And, it all started in the Gunnison Valley of Colorado.
After 10 years, and 20 volumes Luke Mehall is returning to Crested Butte to celebrate The Climbing Zine with a “Zine Thing” at Townie Books on Saturday June 26th at 6:30 p.m.
The evening, which is free to attend, will feature poetry and stories from Mehall, a typewriter writing contest, and stories from the audience.
Mehall is delighted to return to Townie Books, where he did his first ever “Zine Thing” to celebrate Volume 1, circa 2010. Shortly after publishing Volume 1, Mehall moved to Durango where he continued publishing The Zine. He has also written five books and is the host of the Dirtbag State of Mind podcast.
