Mehall gets a reminder of what life is like without climbing when he is suffering from some bad tendonitis. Stuck living in an unfurnished, basement without heat in Salt Lake City, Mehall pours all his energy into writing. He spends his days at the library with his nose in a book, or with a pen in his hand; and his nights washing dishes at a vegan restaurant.
